This weekend was so nice! I recently had what I’d like to call a “stay-cation.” This weekend consisted of:

1. Verve Coffee Roasters

FullSizeRender FullSizeRender

This place is beyond cute! I’m glad I discovered this little gem. The inside is perfect for a study session(currently my school life), and you’re surrounded by plants outside and it’s perfect on a beautiful day. Pictured above is the juice flight. Usually, I would say juice isn’t so fun, but for the most part, the juices in this flight were pretty tasty. My favorite was the coconut juice (the white) at the end. On the side were dried mulberries which were pretty tasty and acted as a nice cleanser between each juice. 🙂

2. The Last Bookstore

Probably the most “art-sy” bookstore of ALL time. Something about this place is not only about the books, but about the surroundings that make it different from the majority of your average bookstores.

3. Larchmont Village

Larchmont Bungalow is a favorite because they’re known for their red and blue velvet pancakes. I know what you’re thinking. Honestly, need I say more?! Their outdoor patio is super cute and cozy and perfect for a breakfast date.

On the same street is Salt and Straw, one of my FAVORITE ice cream joints. And trust me when I say, I LOVE ice cream. Their seasonal flavors are to die for, so come during their specials if you get a chance. As far as regular flavors go, I recommend the Almond Brittle and Salted Caramel. Happy Nomz! 🙂

Lastly, comes the outfit! Due to the warm weather, I wore my new favorite dress from Free People paired with fringe sandals, a turquoise necklace, and my Chloe purse.

Fringe Friday

As you can guess by the title, we’ve both been a little obsessed with fringe lately. Not only that, but it’s also super trendy. Whether in heel, sandal, or clothing form, we are obsessed! OBSESSED. I just got my Zara fringe heels today and I’m already in love. Here are some of our other top fringe picks when it comes to shoes.

All Gold Everything

I’ve always been all about accessories. Here are my latest pickups from Madewell! 🙂

1. Bracelet

I wear more gold than I do silver, but I usually find it hard to find an everyday gold piece. I FINALLY found it. This bracelet makes a statement, but just enough to the point where you can still wear it everyday.

2. Necklace

This necklace was such a steal at this price! I love the fact that it’s simple, but the fringe tassel makes it a little bit more fun! Perfect to jazz up a simple black dress.

What’s In My Bag?

My every day bag is usually some sort of tote because I carry a TON of things. Probably not on everyone’s list of essentials, but I feel incomplete if I don’t have these in my bag with me.

1. Sanitizer

If you know me, you know I sanitize ALL the time. I actually avoided the flu/sinus cold for about a year and a half and I thank sanitizer for that. I’m not sure if that’s the real reason, but I’m gonna put the two together anyway, haha. My favorite sanitizer at the moment is Jessica Alba’s Honest Company hand sanitizer spray. I like it more than traditional gels because it has a light scent and it’s not drying because it has aloe in it! Plus, it’s all natural! 🙂 You can purchase it stores like Target or Nordstrom here.

2. My Kate Spade Makeup Bag

It’s probably a whole separate blog to talk about what’s in my makeup bag, so I’ll tell you what I mainly carry. I carry a mattifying powder, my contouring kit, a bright pink lipstick and a red lipstick, and a makeup brush.

Lipstick: 1 | 2

3. My iPhone

I recently got the iPhone 6 and let me tell you about the picture quality. It may even be at a tie to my Canon. Plus, I have to post to our insta 😉

4. Perfume

So I have a habit of spraying myself because it gets SO hot in SoCal. A nice, floral scent makes me feel refreshed so I  always carry it with me. I’m currently using D&G 3 L’IMPERATRICE, but I’m thinking of switching to Miss Dior Bloom Bouquet or Chloe Love Story soon. Any thoughts or suggestions on those?

5. Floss

You all probably think I’m crazy for this one, and yes, I do have an odd obsession with teeth. But I’ve recently added this to my purses because I have this weird phobia that I always have a green piece of lettuce in my front teeth. Better safe than sorry! 😛

6. Headphones

I’m usually studying at a coffee shop and sometimes that can get pretty loud. I always carry a set of headphones with me so I can tune the world out with some instrumentals, a cup of coffee, and my work.

7 . Sunnies

It gets super bright and sometimes I don’t have time for mascara so I cover up with sunglasses. Currently, I’ve been wearing my reflective Ray Bans like these here.

All About Dem Nails

Good morning, everybody! We hope you are all enjoying this lovely Friday morning. As promised, here is the tutorial on how I did my nails. I honestly came up with the idea while studying for a midterm (procrastinating as usual, hah). I am now totally hooked on using a toothpick for all my nail designs because it just gives the nails a cool edge. Without further ado, I hope you like the tutorial and have an amazing weekend.

IMG_9318 Step 1:

Apply your basecoat to your nails. Gellous Nail Gel is my favorite basecoat to use because it lasts over a week and makes your polish look like you had a gel manicure.

Step 2:

Next, choose your base color. I’m wearing OPI Eurso Euro which is a gorgeous purplish/blue shade!

Step 3:

Choose your nail color for the design. I chose Revlon’s Sure Thing. This probably the coolest step. First, dip the toothpick in your preferred nail polish, then tap the toothpick onto paper (to ensure you don’t get a big white dot) and with a light hand, glide the toothpick over the nail in any direction you wish and repeat. BOOM!

Step 4:

Add your favorite topcoat once your nails are dry. You now have edgy, cool nails!

Good Girls go to Heaven

FINALLY! Thank goodness for this 3 day weekend. Hello, we are back! We apologize about the lack of blogging. It has been so busy for us. School has been SO insane for us. You can guess that we have been busy, busy, and even more busy. However, this weekend was a bit of a fun one for us because we finally got to do something that normal people our age do… Go to a concert. That’s probably not a big deal to most of you, but we don’t have a lot of time to do fun things like this too often.

We started our night at the Anaheim Packing House for dinner. You’ve probably seen us post pics of this place on insta. We just can’t get enough of it. It is seriously so cute. Essentially, it’s a two level building that has a lot of different options for food, dessert, and even drinks. It is absolutely perfect for the foodie. We went to Georgia for dinner and it was absolutely DELISH. We both kind of have a thing for southern food and we are actually hoping to visit New Orleans soon (fingers crossed). We both got the jambalaya with rice and the garlic fries (pictured below). NOMZ.

Then we went to our concert. I don’t think we could have been any more excited for Snakehips if we tried (their SoundCloud here).

Strangely enough, we learned that at 22, we are quite the “grandmas,” haha. Despite the insane crowd, Snakehips performed amazingly! Trust us when we say that the link to their soundcloud can’t even compare to them live. That was our fun little Saturday GNO. What are you all up to this weekend?

Hashtag festival season is here! We know that many of you are headed to Coachella, (and if you are, we are EXTREMELY jealous.. BOO SCHOOL!) so we decided to include some of our festival must haves this season!

1. Sunglasses

It’s going to be super hot and super bright so definitely have some sunglasses to shield your eyes and avoid those future wrinkles! I recently bought some Ray Bans and polarized sunglasses are always a safe bet like these here and here. If you’re looking for more affordable alternatives, Forever 21 and Urban Outfitters have some great sunglasses for a great deal!

2. Hats

Floppy hats, fedoras, straw hats, etc. are so trendy right now and they’re perfect to shade you from the hot sun!

Floppy hats: In black, and gray

Fedoras: I recommend this one and this comes in maroon.

Straw: Here and here

3. Off the shoulder

Off the shoulder is super easy and super cute. It looks good in blouse form and dress form… Don’t take advice from us, but just buy them all, whatever 😛

Blouses: I recommend these from Forever here and here, from Lush, and TopShop.

Dresses: From ShopLunab here and here

4. Dresses

Dresses are always a go, no matter the festival you’re going to. These dresses are a little more on the boho side, but at an affordable price. Love this one and this one from Zara, this maxi from Free People, and this maxi from Urban Outfitters.

5. Necklaces

Coachella is all about piling on the accessories. I don’t really think you can go overboard at this festival with all the layering.

I like these statement necklaces here, here, and here. These layering necklaces here, here, and here.

6. Bracelets

Layering bracelets have always been trendy, but at Coachella, the more the better! I am a fan of this bracelet from Baublebar because it’s a little more on the edgy side and I love any Alex and Ani bracelet (SO perfect for layering) found here. The cool thing about these bracelets is that each bracelet has a different meaning and they promote positive energy. 🙂

7. Strappy sandals

UGH, I’m SO obsessed with this trend! I love the whole gladiator look because it makes every look a little less polished and a little more boho. The only bad thing I have to say about these shoes is the difficulty to get in and out of them when going shopping. Other than that, love these pairs here, here, and here.

8. Booties

If you’re not much a sandal person, booties can be really cute with any boho inspired outfit. Steve Madden has a cute, open toed bootie here and Sam Edelman has a flat, comfy bootie here.

9. Handbags

You probably need a light handbag to carry your things so I suggest some trendy bags this season like the backpack (fringe topshop here and faux leather backpack here) or a ever so trendy bucket bag. Rebecca Minkoff has really popular bucket bags here and here.

I hope this list helped you out in your Coachella outfit guide and I hope you all have a wonderful and safe time! Happy #festivalseason! 🙂

Disneyland on a Friday

It’s so hard making time for family, friends, and significant others when it comes to being a full time student and a worker. What better way than to unwind and forget your troubles than to head to the HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH! Disneyland! 🙂 I have an annual pass, which is super awesome and I think everyone should have it because you save money, get discounts at some food locations, and it’s valid for both parks! If you are planning a Disney trip soon, let me tell you a little bit about some of my Disney “Do’s.”

1) Bring a small bag, like my Rebecca Minkoff Mini Five Zip, because you don’t want to carry around something bulky and heavy through a long day!

2) Wear something comfy because it’s a loooot of walking and waiting in line! (Blazer, Shirt, Jeans) FullSizeRender

3) Eat junk! YES. You’re at Disneyland, how can you say no to all that yumminess?! I suggest the ice cream down Main Street at Disneyland (pictured below), a corn dog, the bread bowls, and a lobster roll. I’ve always wanted to try Cove Bar at California Adventure because they have lobster nachos.. add that to my foodie list! Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset

4) Go on/around holidays! You may think I’m crazy because of the crowds, but the decorations are great, especially around Halloween and ESPECIALLY Christmas. Disneyland is already magical and it gets more magical around Christmas time… if even possible. This time, I went with my sister and my best friend to see the Lunar New Year Decorations. So sad that we missed Micky and Minnie though. Gung Hay Fat Choy! 🙂 Processed with VSCOcam with g3 preset
